June Shopping Haul Continued: Health Food Edition

June Shopping Haul Continued: Health Food Edition

A few days ago I posted my fashion haul for June. I bought a few more bits but these were health food related so I thought it best to do a separate post.
So without further ado, my June health haul..

➀ Heath & Heather Tea ➀
I reviewed this lovely tea company in an earlier post as I was given some of the honey & chamomile tea as a gift by a good friend. I was eager to try another flavour as well as this delicious number because it was so yummy it set the bar high so I knew they were good at mixing leaves into beautiful blends.

☞ Lavendar & Echinacea; The ins and out on the new find:
Lavender tea promotes relaxation and aids digestion. Bonus.
It is a perfect ‘any time of the day tea’ due to its lack of caffeine.
The tea bags are not bleached. Big Bonus.
The colour of the water turns a beautiful shade of pinky red because of the blackberry extracts. Perfect for your red/pink themed tea party. Yey!
Like most herbal teas the tea has a lovely calming effect.

➁ Neal’s Yard Wholefoods Bombay Mix ➁
Our parents food tastes have a big influence on our own; one of the snacks my mother used to have quite a lot was Bombay mix. The slightly spicy, crunchy assortment of delights with the occasional sweet. I haven’t had any for a while because, well I haven’t. So I had them. I enjoyed them; but I clearly have moved my taste buds on to new things. One of the things that I used to love the most was the small sweet raisins and these didn’t really have any sweet bits in them. Disappointing. Added to this, I shouldn’t eat peanuts and I would say 5% of the mix is peanuts. Oh.

➂ Meridian Almond Butter ➂
This product leads nicely on from the last. I cant eat peanuts, I love peanut butter but shouldn’t eat it. Make way for the almond butter!
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
It is bloomin’ delicious! I normally buy the smaller 170g glass jars of almond or cashew butter so when I stumbled across this huge 1kg tub of the glorious stuff I hauled it onto the pay desk. I can not rave about it more. The ingredients are quite frankly, minimal. Minimal ingredients when it comes to food is great news. The less your food is played with, the better. I have snipped the ingredients from their website and check out the dietary attributes – no milk, eggs, gluten, soy, fish.. it goes on. BEST of all, no nassttyy palm oil. If you want to know more or see more of their amazing range of products, here’s your link.
I can’t wait to try out some of their seed butters – sunflower or pumpkin as I have not seen these anywhere yet.

➃ Neal’s Yard Wholefoods Porridge ➃
Ah porridge, you are so plain and basic yet such a good staple. Porridge has to be about one of the only foods I enjoy plain.. yeah come to think of it, its the only food! I haven’t used this porridge yet but I have included it here as it is one of my staple health food purchases. Why not? Its quick, easy, cheap, healthy, filling, versatile. Have it cooked or part cooked, put it in yoghurt, add it to baking.. I ❤ you porridge and here is my shrine.

  1. This is so weird… definitely not a coincidence that we happened upon one another… 2 weeks ago almond butter, oats and nuts were words I hadn’t thought about for years. 1 week ago I started an online health course and just today I spent an hour trying to find nut butter (which I actually had never heard of before the course) in my local supermarket. They don’t have any. But they do have bombay mix and I looked at it and said “what do we call this in English again?” and the answer is HERE IN YOUR BLOG. Just got shivers down my spine!!

I lost connectivity as I tried to post this, so apologies if it ends up posting multiple times. Please just delete the duplicates.

    1. haha how weird! I’m a bit of a health ‘freak’ sometimes so occasionally I post healthy posts! Love a great coincidence! Maybe you should write a post on your healthy course learnings?

      1. I was thinking that, and showcasing some of the food we’re eating. But right now with the blogging101 tasks and networking, I don’t know that I can find the time. I look forward to reading more of your health posts and getting some ideas. 🙂

      2. Sure maybe later. I hear ya! It’s time consuming! haha well good luck with the health course! Its great that you are making such an effort for your family of fairy ninjas!
